On November 6th, 2009, Equinox was asked:
We have talked about focus and we have talked about sleep, and it is basically being a doorway to go into other realms. How does this happen that we are able to move into a different realm as a dream, or a memory or a thought and still keep our body alive and yet not be awake to do it?
EQ: We will be doing this is the meditation tonight, at least attempting to show the process, whether thee choose to learn it from the meditation will be up to thee. Essentially, what happens is when thee are in a sleeping state it is the Ego that is sleeping. It allows then for the Soul to activate the real self and do some work. Now it is not every time thee are sleeping, for there are times when thee will discover the Ego is constantly pulling thee out of sleep, for one thing or another. Thee may wake up worried about something and think "that's odd". Thee may wake up too frequently because of bodily functions, which is unusual. This is the Ego fighting the Soul for possession of the body.
Guest: Like in meditation that sometimes they have an itch or a cough or something.
EQ: Yes exactly. The Ego does not like giving up control.
Guest: Is there any way to make that easier so the Ego is more relaxed so it realizes it's not going to be forgotten?
EQ: No because it has everything to do with when the Ego decides to be threatened. And that usually has something to do with whatever is happening in thy life at the time.
Guest: Is there a way to trick the Ego like a dog, you feed it and it keeps quiet for awhile so you can do your thing?
EQ: Yes there are ways to trick the Ego as many Yogis have learned to do. They require vast amounts of discipline. And in many cases in the past, that discipline was arrived at by giving up everything of the World so the Ego was essentially bored. So that is one way.
Guest: It seems the Ego can be interested in many different things at times and so if you can interest the Ego in what is the path of the Soul...
EQ: That is harder.
Guest: I'm sure it is harder because you have to be able to realize it and get it past the Ego first.
EQ: You have to be able to realize what the path of the Soul is.
Guest: There are some indicators...
EQ: Yes, but some of those are the Ego's traps. So it is harder than thee think. It is a wondrous gift that when thee choose to be incarnated… it is a wondrous gift that part of the process is to forget that thee that thee are not "All that Is". It is part of understanding the Linkage. Even thy great Avatars, every single one, dost thou know that? Had to go away and fight the battle between Ego and Soul. The 30 days in the desert, was that not what Jesus did, and Buddha. How long did he sit under the Tree and loose himself?
Guest: Seven years I think.
EQ: Mohammed did the same. All of thy great Avatars. So did Moses. Did he not go to the mountain and disappear and come back with Ten Commandments? Actually came back with many more than that.
Guest: So Mel Brooks was right.
(Laughter)
EQ: We don't understand but the laughter is good.
Guest: The idea is that he came back with 3 stone tablets and dropped one on the way.
EQ: No it was worse than that. Essentially he realized that all of the ones that he had were impossible to get his people to follow so he whittled it down to Ten.
Guest: So since you bring it up what were some of the others that that he felt were impossible?
EQ: The Connectedness. A lot about sharing, being there for each other, thinking of others first. When thee come down off the Mountain and find thy people being decadent, they can't even spend a few weeks alone without coming apart, thee start thinking "we had better simplify".
Guest: This comes out in later religions, almost globally in the last forty years.
EQ: Right. And if thee pay attention we would love for thee to pay attention to the children, for they are leading the way. Many children are doing things that would have never been thought of. Dost thou know or have thee heard of the child from Canada that addressed the United Nations.
Guest: She was around eight years old, Yes I've seen the video. It was phenomenal.
EQ: How many of thee in thy youth would have ever thought to bring thy message to thy peers?
Guest: I certainly wouldn't have thought I could do it.
